FITNESSGRAM

In February 1996, the State Board of Education (SBE) designated FITNESSGRAM® as the required physical fitness test that school districts must administer to all California students in Grades 5, 7, and 9. In addition to these designated grade levels, students in Grades 10, 11 and 12, who have not yet achieved 5 out of 6 Healthy Fitness Zones (HFZ) will also be tested this year. SDUSD has established an additional testing window from October 24th through November 18th, 2011 for all 11th grade students (class of 2013) and 12th grade students (class of 2012) who have not yet achieved 5 of 6 HFZs. The additional fall administration was established to provide 11th and 12th grade students an additional opportunity to pass prior to scheduling courses for the following semester. The 2012-13 spring testing window is from February 25th through March 22nd, 2013. The FITNESSGRAM® is a comprehensive, health-related physical fitness battery developed by The Cooper Institute. The primary goal of the FITNESSGRAM® is to assist students in establishing lifetime habits of regular physical activity.
