Volunteering At Hearst
Thank you for your interest in making Hearst Elementary a wonderful and enriching learning environment for our children. The Volunteer Opportunities at Hearst Elementary are available on many levels. So whether it be by chaperoning a field trip, helping during the many events on campus or offering assistance in the classrooms - you do make a difference!
Volunteer Application & Requirements
The district requires that all new and returning school volunteers complete the Volunteer Application Form
every year and obtain a TB Clearance every four years. Click here
for a list of San Diego County clinics and health centers that provide TB testing.
Also, an additional form
must be completed by volunteers driving or participating in field trips (Category C) and for overnight chaperoning (Category D). All drivers must provide a copy of their driver's license and proof of insurance to the front office each school year.
Please take the time to consider how you would like to participate and return the necessary paperwork to the office or in your child's take-home folder as soon as possible. And whenever volunteering, please remember to sign in at the office and receive your label to wear during your time on campus.
Room Parent
If you are a room parent for your child's classroom, download the Room Parent Packet
for detailed information. For questions regarding application requirements or room parent responsibilities, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Alicia Murphy.
