    Congratulations to our JV baseball team. They won the Bully's tournament this weekend! (3/27)

    Congratulations to Track athlete, Jaia Piland, for being named the Field Athlete of the Elmer Runge Meet this past Saturday at Patrick Henry High School.  Jaia came in first in the long jump and set the new meet record for long jump at 17 feet, 6.5 inches.  She tied for first place in the High Jump, clearing 4'10" and ran a 12.77 in the 100, which was good enough for second place.  She also anchored the girls 4 by 100 relay  team of Shelby Moore, Brittany Barnes, Claire Fitzsimmons, who placed first in their heat.  Go Bucs!     22nd Annual Chicana/Latina High School Conference on Saturday, April 18th, 2015 at San Diego State University.  The purpose of the 22nd annual high school conference is to promote higher education, cultural awareness, positive Chicana/Latina role models, and self-determination to all high school students. We will be awarding three scholarships worth $500 each. We encourage all high school students to apply.     It is time to begin the process to apply for the Raymond A. Tice II Scholarship Fund for the 2015-2016 academic year. Please complete your application on-line at www.csascholars.org.  Once you submit your application you wil be given a list of add’l information that must be submitted by mail. Deadline for receipt of on-line application as well as additional materials requested needs to be postmark no later than Friday, 5/1/15.

    The Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Choir San Diego is pleased to announce its 17th annual educational grant awards.  If you are a graduating senior with a GPA of 2.75 or better, if you live in San Diego County and are a U.S. Citizen,  passionate about and committed to your chosen field in the creative arts,  if you intend to major in this field at an accredited institution of higher learning, we urge you to apply for one of the grants!  Please see your counselor for add’l information on how to apply for a grant or visit their website at: www.mlkccsd.org for applications and/or information.     The Abraham and Lillian Turk Scholarship Program is available now through March 15, 2015, only for San Diego County residents.  Graduating high school seniors or those who have graduated high school within the last five years.

    Up to 10 awards for up to $10,000 each will be given for those who plan to attend accredited, not-for-profit two-year or four-year colleges, universities and technical and vocational schools.

    Funds are for the first year of school with no guarantee of future assistance, though scholarship recipients may apply for future support.

    Applicants must demonstrate financial need. There is no grade point average requirement.

    The Abraham and Lillian Turk Scholarship Program is available now through March 15, 2015, only for San Diego County residents.  Graduating high school seniors or those who have graduated high school within the last five years.

    Up to 10 awards for up to $10,000 each will be given for those who plan to attend accredited, not-for-profit two-year or four-year colleges, universities and technical and vocational schools.

    Funds are for the first year of school with no guarantee of future assistance, though scholarship recipients may apply for future support.

    Applicants must demonstrate financial need. There is no grade point average requirement.

Chavez Commemorative Committee, in partnership with Los Bomberos de San Diego and San Diego Metropolitan Credit Union, is happy to announce our 15th Annual High School Scholarship. Our theme this year is Then and Now: United and Strong and has inspired our organization to generate a choice of prompts that invites students to share their stories of strength and courage. Each year, we are excited to read the responses to the prompts from students in the San Diego and Imperial Counties community. Please see your counselor for an application or additional information.

    Finalists will be determined by a community panel of judges at the Day of Service, March 14. Postmark deadline for submission is Friday, March 6, 2015. We will announce the winners at our Community Breakfast to be held at the Wyndham San Diego Bayside on Monday, March 30, 2015. Students have a chance to with a $1,000 cash prize and a laptop.  Please mail completed application and double-spaced, two-page (600-700 words) essay to:
