Tickets on sale at finance during lunch or after school once students have all signatures. If you plan on taking a non-MBHS student you MUST have copy of their photo ID and their portion of contract filled out BEFORE you can buy their ticket. Your current MBHS photo ID is required to purchase your ticket AND to enter the dance. Tickets are $70 per person. Prom is May 23, 7-11 at Paradise Point Resort.     Building Industry Association of San Diego County 2015 High School Scholarship Application

    The Scholarship Committee is seeking students who can demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in the building industry.   Scholarships are also awarded based on other qualifications, including academics, personal achievement and financial need.   Applicants must complete the application and return to the BIA Cares Scholarship Committee by Friday, 5/29.     NACAC Scholarship Contest for San Diego-Area Juniors and Seniors
    The National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) is holding a scholarship contest for 11th and 12th graders who attend San Diego-area schools. The annual contest is held in conjunction with NACAC‘s national conference, which this year will be held Oct. 1-3 at the San Diego Convention Center.
    San Diego-area 11th and 12th graders from all family income backgrounds and academic preparation are encouraged to apply. To enter, they must create a video of no more than two minutes and/or 2 GB using the following script:
    "My name is ___________ and I'm a ______________ (junior or senior) from _____________ (high school and town). My college degree will help me make a difference in my family, community and beyond by _________."
    Deadline is 6/8/15
    Videos will be judged based on originality, creativity and focus but students do not need to be experienced videographers to submit an entry—their message and creativity are most important! No fancy camera equipment required. They can simply use their camera phones!NACAC, an education association of more than 14,000 secondary school counselors, college and university admission officials, community-based organizations and others who support students in the transition from high school to college, will award scholarships totaling $20,000—$2,500 for first place, $1,500 for second place and 16 honorable mention awards of $1,000. (Scholarships will be awarded upon the recipients‘ successful completion of their senior year and admission to an accredited two- or four-year institution. Scholarships are nonrenewable and should be used for education expenses.) Winning students and their counselors will be notified in early August via email. Winners, their families and their counselors also will be recognized at the national conference during our Annual Membership Meeting on Saturday, October 3 in Hall G of the convention center. (NACAC will reimburse students, parents and counselors for local travel expenses to attend the awards presentation at the convention center.) For more information, contact

Fleet Science Center has opportunities for high school students to be productive and have a great time by volunteering for its summer camp program. The Fleet offers numerous opportunities in a stimulating and fun environment. From the gallery floor to the education classrooms every volunteer is an invaluable part of the Fleet family and helps to ensure its guests’ experiences are meaningful, memorable, educational and fun. Currently, Fleet is recruiting Summer Camp Counselors, as well as all of its Floor positions: Museum Ambassador, Gallery Facilitator or Tinkering Studio.

Sudden Cardiac Arrest is one of the leading causes of death among high school athletes, so this free screening process is a good way to detect any underlying heart conditions. It will be held May 3, 2015 at Madison High School from 9am-3pm. It is FREE for all high school athletes, but pre-registration is required.     The EP Save a Life Foundation is holding a free heart screening clinic for all high school athletes. Sudden Cardiac Arrest is one of the leading causes of death among high school athletes, so this free screening process is a good way to detect any underlying heart conditions. It will be held May 3, 2015 at Madison High School from 9am-3pm. It is FREE for all high school athletes, but pre-registration is required.     Prom is coming up quickly. Get your Passport to Paris Contracts which is available on the school web site. Get parent signature first, then library, then McGill for attendance and GPA. Tickets on sale at finance during lunch or after school once students have all signatures. If you plan on taking a non-MBHS student you MUST have copy of their photo ID and their portion of contract filled out BEFORE you can buy their ticket.
