    Interested in learning self-defense, or looking to pick up a new skill? Three Treasures will be starting Kung Fu and Lion Dance classes after school on April 23rd.     SATURDAY, 5/2, 9:00 – 12 NOON

     

    Hundreds of tags are removed every year! We’ve got all the materials and training you need. Refreshments provided. Please meet at PB Presbyterian Church at Jewell St.

    Volunteers under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent. Hours qualify for community service credit. Forms and more info are at www.PBTownCouncil.org

    Attention!  Arc is bringing Driver’s Education to MBHS.  The first date of instruction will be TODAY, Wednesday, April 15th from 2:30-3:30 in the side lab of the library.  To be eligible, you must be 15 1/2 -18 years old and NOT already have a CA Driver’s permit. 

    The course will be every Wednesday and Friday after school for the next 2 weeks, and you must pre-register to attend.  After the online portion of the course is completed, there will be a raffle and 20 lucky students will win FREE behind the wheel instruction.  Please see Ms. Gina in Room 233 for a registration form and more details.  (Gina Metcalf Site Coordinator- Mission Bay High School 4/24)

    MBHS Campus Cleanup, Saturday, April 11, from 9-11:00, Meet at the new stadium near the back of campus and get a sneak preview of the beautiful new facility prior to the Stadium Grand Opening/Open House on April 16th!   

    We will be sweeping and picking up around the campus so that it sparkles for the event on the 16th!   Get your community service hours in too!

    Congratulations to our JV baseball team. They won the Bully's tournament this weekend! (3/27)

    Congratulations to Track athlete, Jaia Piland, for being named the Field Athlete of the Elmer Runge Meet this past Saturday at Patrick Henry High School.  Jaia came in first in the long jump and set the new meet record for long jump at 17 feet, 6.5 inches.  She tied for first place in the High Jump, clearing 4'10" and ran a 12.77 in the 100, which was good enough for second place.  She also anchored the girls 4 by 100 relay  team of Shelby Moore, Brittany Barnes, Claire Fitzsimmons, who placed first in their heat.  Go Bucs!     SENIORS:

     

    Seal of Bilítera applications are due Friday March 27th.  See Mr. Arteaga (room 192) or Ms. Orlando (room 184) immediately for an application.  If you have passed an AP Spanish Exam (3 or above) or IB Spanish exam (4 or above) then you are eligible for the Seal of Biliteracy and the Bea Gonzalez Scholarship.  If you are scheduled to take the AP or IB exams this year, you should still apply.     Congratulations to Track athlete, Jaia Piland, for being named the Field Athlete of the Elmer Runge Meet this past Saturday at Patrick Henry High School.  Jaia came in first in the long jump and set the new meet record for long jump at 17 feet, 6.5 inches.  She tied for first place in the High Jump, clearing 4'10" and ran a 12.77 in the 100, which was good enough for second place.  She also anchored the girls 4 by 100 relay  team of Shelby Moore, Brittany Barnes, Claire Fitzsimmons, who placed first in their heat.  Go Bucs!     Seal of Biliteracy applications are due Friday March 27th.  See Arteaga (room 192) or Orlando (room 184) immediately for an application.  If you have passed an AP Spanish Exam (3 or above) or IB Spanish exam (4 or above) then you are eligible for the Seal of Biliteracy and the Bea Gonzalez Scholarship.  If you are scheduled to take the AP or IB exams this year, you should still apply.     The Abraham and Lillian Turk Scholarship Program is available now through March 15, 2015, only for San Diego County residents.  Graduating high school seniors or those who have graduated high school within the last five years.

    Up to 10 awards for up to $10,000 each will be given for those who plan to attend accredited, not-for-profit two-year or four-year colleges, universities and technical and vocational schools.

    Funds are for the first year of school with no guarantee of future assistance, though scholarship recipients may apply for future support.

    Applicants must demonstrate financial need. There is no grade point average requirement.
