    The priority application period for the 2015-2016 school year will be from  Nov 1, 2014 to Feb 15, 2015.


    Applications will not be accepted after the deadline unless the student is new to the district or a current San Diego Unified student has a change of residence.

    Proof of new residence is required.
     

    Notification

    Families will be notified in early April through June if their student is being offered enrollment for one of their choice schools. Families will be notified by mail or phone call.

     

    Student’s don’t forget you can buy basketball tickets at the Finance Office before school, during lunch and until 2:45 after school.  Tickets for students are $2.00 with  a ASB card.  Our next varsity game is Tuesday, 2/10 vs University City.  JV boy’s game starts at 3:30. Varsity game starts at 5:00.  (Admin )

    SCHOLARSHIP:
     

    The Brad Fowler Memorial Scholarship Fund offers a one-year, $5,000 scholarship to five high school seniors in San Diego County. The nominee must have demonstrated an ability to overcome personal obstacles associated with drugs or alcohol, a strong commitment to athletics and a desire to continue personal growth and development through higher education.  There is no minimum GPA requirement, but academic growth will be considered. Submission Deadline: Friday, February 20, 2015 Please see your counselor if interested. (Landau 2/20)

     STUDENTS:   

    Gender equality club will hold its first meeting on TODAY, Friday, January 23rd during lunch in room 261. The intention of this club is to spread awareness and possibly enlighten others on women's roles in education, society and the media.  The end goal would be to inspire a positive change.     Attention Freshman Class - All those interested in running for your class counsel please contact Mrs. Filamor's in her office or if you don’t want to run for an elected position please come and join us every 1st & 3rd Thursday of the month for your freshman class meetings.  Over the next four years your class must help raise money for your prom, senior brunch, grad night and other senior activities.  This is the group that will help do that.  Again, if you are interested please join us, you do not need to run for office.     Contest is open to all students in grades 9 – 12.

    Students will write a 5-10 minute speech on Water Conservation.

    Speeches will be given during February, March, April (2), May and June.

    Awards: Club level winner receives $100, $25 to each participant.

                   Zone level winner $125.

                   Region level winner $175.

                  District winner $4,500.

                  Area winner $6,500 .

                  Finalist $10,000.

    SCHOLARSHIP:

    The California Association of Educational Office Professionals (CAEOP) is offering a $1,000 scholarship to assist business education students who wish to continue higher education and pursue a career in business administration or education.     The Brad Fowler Memorial Scholarship Fund offers a one-year, $5,000 scholarship to five high school seniors in San Diego County. The nominee must have demonstrated an ability to overcome personal obstacles associated with drugs or alcohol, a strong commitment to athletics and a desire to continue personal growth and development through higher education.  There is no minimum GPA requirement, but academic growth will be considered.
