Budget OverviewSince 2007, California has seen historic reductions in school funding. For the San Diego Unified School District, this means a reduction of more than 25 percent in school funding while the enrollment has remained stable. That's a reduction approaching $500 million.
Budget planning begins following the release of the Governor's budget proposal in January, with completion required by the end of June.
