* We will be testing from April 21st - May 13th. It is important to have your child rested and on time for school during testing. If your child has an appointment during school hours, please have your child bring a signed note to the attendance office BEFORE school. We will issue your child an early release form to be excused from class or testing at the specified time. * John Zinser, Deanna DeLeon, and Jenna Richards were accepted to the SDUSD Instrumental Honor Concert on Sunday, April 12 @ 3PM at the Jacobs Center Copley Symphony Hall. * Jarien Jamanila and Johnny Steele, have been accepted to study at the Castleton Summer Jazz Academy this summer! *The SDSCPA would like to congratulate Paloma Mercier, Isabelle Decong, and Christine Maninang for winning Scholastic Art and Writing awards (http://www.artandwriting.org/).* * On Feb. 26, representatives from SeaWorld will be giving an Audition Information Workshop after school in the Florence Johnson Theatre. * Congratulations to Jordan Humphries on his acceptance to the Musicians Institute: College of Contemporary Music * Congratulations to Eddie Garcia and Aliyah Malcolm who have been cast by the Playwright Project. * SCPA welcomes the RESCUE SCG Team of Cheyne and Francine * The SCPA Jazz Ensemble was awarded “Best Jazz Ensemble” at the KSDS 88.3 Jazz Festival this last weekend. Additionally, the following students won “Outstanding Soloist Awards”: Jarien Jamanila, TJ Smith, Julian Esparza, John Steele, Cameron Alforque. In addition, Jarien Jamanila was awarded a FULL SCHOLARSHIP to the UCSD Jazz camp, worth $1500! He will be studying with Jazz legend Charles McPherson!

Combine Shakespeare’s “Taming of the Shrew” with Cole Porter’s music and lyrics and you get the fun, melodious and sophisticated KISS ME, KATE.
