The FOSS California curriculum has been adopted to support science teaching and learning for students in grades K-5. Science kits are delivered to elementary teachers three times throughout the year (earth science in the fall, physical science in the winter, and life science in the spring). Kits are rotated through the Science Refurbishment Center where they are continually restocked to ensure that each teacher has the necessary materials in the classroom. Units of Study have been developed to support the planning and implementation of science in the elementary classroom. See Professional Development for professional development on curriculum implementation, notebooking, and content development for teachers.
