San Diego Adolescent Pregnancy and Parenting Program (SANDAPP)

SANDAPP’s goals are to improve health outcomes for pregnant and parenting adolescents and their children; increase the rate of high school graduation; enhance parenting skills; prevent child abuse, neglect and family violence; promote youth development; and assist to prevent second unplanned pregnancies. Services are provided to both female and male teen parents. During the 2009-10 school year, 156 of our clients graduated from High School!

Mission

To enhance the health, educational potential, and healthy relationships of pregnant and parenting adolescents, their children, siblings and parents by promoting a collaborative, integrated support system.

Services

SANDAPP provides case management and counseling services to pregnant and parenting youth throughout San Diego County. We have 3 therapists and 21 full time Health Service Case Workers (Case Managers) with 21 of the Case Managers/Therapists out-stationed at the following school and community sites:

  • Twain High School
  • Lincoln High School
  • Crawford High School
  • Lindsay Community School
  • Cajon Valley High School in El Cajon
  • East County Health and Human Services Family Resource Center in El Cajon
  • Victoria Summit Community School in San Ysidro
  • Health and Human Services Agency in Chula Vista
  • 5 Family Resource Centers in Chula Vista
  • Youth to Youth Center in National City
  • Ocean Shores High School in Oceanside
  • Public Health Nurse Center in Oceanside
  • Vista School District Cal-Safe site
  • Cal-SAFE Escondido at San Pasqual High School 
  • Public Health Nurse Center in Escondido
  • Fallbrook Family Health Centers in Fallbrook
