The Board of Education and District have set a high priority on professional development. According to the district's Strategic Process, the District has the goal of "providing targeted professional development to build... capacity and knowledge to support student learning success..."
Current Professional Development Opportunities
School psychologists, school counselors, school social workers, school nurses and other school staff designated by their school site as a part of their mental health crisis intervention team are encouraged to attend. Deadline to register: Jan. 30
All Administrators and Supervisors are required to attend one training session and are required to attend the full three (3) hours.
Trainings are being offered to all transitional kindergarten teachers. Sign-up in ERO.
Participants will gain tools to regulate mind-body states more effectively and efficiently, resulting in reduced stress effects. Workshops are held Nov. 21, Dec. 12 and Feb. 18 and are free.
San Diego Unified employees receive 10% discount on individual classes
The web-based system Electronic Registrar On-line (ERO) has been activated for employees to sign up for all professional development and training provided by the district.
User-friendly features include: a quick-search for course descriptions, printing ‘transcripts’ of past courses, automated waiting lists and course reminders, driving directions and a direct link to the district’s substitute system (SAMS).
