The Pershing Parent Boosters and
Foundation have just released their meeting schedule for 2008-09. We will meet on the second Tuesday of each month from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the school library. At our meetings, in addition to working on our regular projects, we brainstorm and discuss the ways that Pershing parents can help support and strengthen the school's programs. We encourage all parents to attend at least one of our meetings. We need your opinions and we need your vision about how the Pershing Boosters/Foundation can further nurture the partnership between home and school. Everyone is invited!

The Pershing Spring Concert on May 22, 2008 featured
all band students from one of the most comprehensive music programs in the San Diego Unified School District.
Pershing offers beginning band to all grade levels. Each grade level performed several selections and the groups came together for ensemble performances. The students played to a standing room only crowd in the auditorium.
The sound was incredible and the students demonstrated a high level of skills mastery. Mr. Anderson is truly unique in his ability to guide and nurture such a wide variety of music groups. Congratulations to
Mr. Anderson, our awesome student musicians, Pershing's administration
and staff, Pershing Music Boosters, parents, and parent volunteers for such a successful year. Thank you to Mrs. Masi for her
outstanding reporting of this event!
Pershing's 6 to 6 Program and Drama Department delighted audiences May 28 - 30, 2008 with eight wonderful performances of their Spring Musical production. Under Mrs. Miller's expert direction, the audiences were entertained by Pershing's talented cast whose singing, dancing, and acting were fantastic. Congratulations to Mrs. Miller, Mr. Ryan Moulton, the 6 to 6 program, Principal Sullivan, Mr. Jacobs, Mr. Anderson and the Pershing Band, teachers, staff, administrators, volunteers,
cast, and technical crew. A special congratulations to the many 8th graders in the cast who finished their theatrical career at Pershing with this production!
Drama’s cast party will be held on June 11, 2008 at lunch time. See Mrs. Miller for details.
Minimum Day Reminder - June 16th, the last day of school, will be a Minimum Day at Pershing. School is dismissed at 11:30 a.m.
