Reminder
- Upcoming Parent Meetings
With the recent focus on budgets, our Parent Booster meeting on Thursday, March 27th will concentrate on the important issues that are facing our school. Please join Principal Sullivan and other parents as we discuss on a new level, the ways that Pershing parents can help maintain, support and strengthen our programs in 2008-2009. If you have never attended a Parent Booster meeting, this is a tremendous opportunity to get plugged into Pershing. Your input and energy are needed! The meeting will be held in the library on Thursday, March 27th at 6:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to participate in this important discussion.
Volunteers needed for the incoming 6th grade class May Mixer on May 2nd from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Each year, parent volunteers help plan the Mixer, which is a pizza party and celebration for Pershing’s 2008-2009 6th grade class and their families. This is a great way to welcome our newest Pershing families. In order to make this event a success, we need your help at our planning meeting on April 2nd from 6:30 to 7:00 p.m. in the school library. If you cannot attend this meeting but would like to help, please contact Scott or Kathleen at
pershingvolunteers@yahoo.com.

Dance Thank You from Rachel Beck - "Dear Pershing staff,

wanted to thank everyone who helped me put together Fire Dance! With so
many teachers donating their time, treats, and supplying
donations to the gift baskets, I was able to reach my goal of

–
“A big thank you to Team A
students and parents who supported "Pasta for Pennies" with
tremendous donations. Mrs. Rondestvedt's 1st block class donated
more than any other class at Pershing, gathering more than $425 for the
Leukemia Society. Mrs. Madonia's 1st block class came in third! Team
A teachers are so proud of the truly big hearts our students have for
giving to help others in need.
In
English, students will be finishing up our Response to Literature Unit
over the next two weeks, and then moving on to the study of Poetry and
Test Taking Skills.
As
always, daily and long term assignments are posted on the Parent Connect
