  • Date and Time: The week of January 26th - Date: To be announced.

  • Location: Auditorium

3. Daytime: Science Fair guest panelist to watch the 8th grade Science Fair presentations. This is an absolutely awesome experience. At the end of Science Fair season, each 8th grader presents his/her project to a class filled with fellow 8th graders, a teacher, and a couple of parent/community guest panelists. For 8th grade parents, this is a terrific way to see what your children and their friends have accomplished. For 6th and 7th grade parents, this is a great opportunity to see what will be expected of your children during their own 8th grade Science Fair season. Lots of panelists are needed. If you are interested or know of a friend, community member, grandparent, etc. who would be interested in participating, please contact Mrs. Lotze, Pershing’s administrative assistant, at (619) 465-3234 ext. 2201 or email her at llotze@sandi.net.

  • Date and Time: Wednesday, January 28, 2009. The first session is from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. and the Second Session is from 8:50 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. You may be a panelist at one or both of the sessions.

  • Location:  Pershing Middle School. Registration is in front of the auditorium. Vice Principal Martin will meet with all panelists before each session and will train them on what to do.

Winter Open House

4. Evening: Winter Open House. Parents are needed to distribute flyers and welcome families at the Open House/Science Fair Exhibit. We need a lot of parents for this as we will also be welcoming 5th grade families who will be visiting our campus during the Open House. Volunteers stand behind one of our welcome tables, which will be set up in front of the school, and they will hand out school flyers to parents and direct them to where the Science Fair exhibits are located. To volunteer, contact us at pershingvolunteers@yahoo.com

  • Date and Time: Thursday, February 5, 2009. Shifts available - 5:45 to 6:05 p.m., 6:05 to 6:25 p.m., 6:25 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., and 6:45 to 7:05 p.m. You may sign up for one or more of the times available.
