2008
Pershing Spelling Bee Overview
On
February 1, 2008, Pershing's top spellers competed in the 2008
Pershing Spelling Bee finals. It was a spectacular competition
that showcased the spelling abilities of those students who
won their respective classroom Spelling Bee's. Congratulations
to all our spellers especially the new school champion from
our 6th grade class as well as the 7th and 8th grade
winners.
Since
San Diego Countywide Spelling Bee rules only allow 7th and 8th
students to compete at the county level, Pershing's 7th grade winner
represented
our school at the San Diego
Countywide Spelling Bee in March.
We
send huge thank you's to Mr.
Carroll and Ms. Lehrer who, once again, co-coordinated this
wonderful event. Their dedication to this program has
benefited many in the Pershing community. |

Highlights
of the
2007 Pershing
Spelling Bee
|
|
| The Pershing Middle School
Spelling Bee on February 2, 2007 was one of the most exciting “bee’s”
ever held on our campus. It was just an awesome competition. All of our
participants were outstanding representatives of their English/Humanities’
classes. The final six competitors (two 6th graders, two 7th graders, and two
8th graders) absolutely shined and we are so
proud of all of them. Congratulations to everyone who participated especially
our 2007 6th, 7th, and 8th grade first and second place winners.
Thank you to Mr. Carroll and Ms. Lehrer,
our spelling bee's faculty coordinators, for always making this event such a wonderful
experience! |
