Pershing Middle School's
many wonderful student writers were honored for their creative writing
talents at our annual Expressions Reception on June 11, 2008. These
students' poems are currently featured in this year's publication of
Pershing's award winning literary magazine called Expressions, 2008.
Expressions
Night began with a prelude performed by one of our 8th grade students
who is a member of the San Diego Unified School District Honor Band
and Orchestra. Following her musical performance, several 6th, 7th,
and 8th graders entertained the audience with a poetry reading while
another talented Pershing musician performed a musical interlude.
Afterwards, those students who won the Prompt-of-the-Month contests
during the school year were also honored.
