About Our School

Doyle Elementary is a high-performing school located in University City. Doyle was designated a Distinguished School by the California Department of Education in 2012!

Many students are children of UCSD graduate students, professors, and research scientists from all over the world.

Students represent over 30 countries and speak 21 languages. The cultural diversity provides an ideal setting where children and adults can learn to respect and appreciate each other.

We provide a program with high expectations in a multicultural setting where students learn to appreciate each other’s differences. Our goals are to raise achievement levels of all students, and to reinforce consideration and good behavior.

Our strong teaching staff is fully credentialed, with an average of 16 years experience. Many teachers have been with us since Doyle opened in 1979. Our focus is on math and literacy with an emphasis on writing. We are increasing the use of technology and enhancing our computer lab.

We are proud of our parent involvement opportunities such as Parent Pals, and SGT. Many parents volunteer their support in the classroom, family nights out, career day, Read Across America Day, and our international festival.

We are committed to obtaining community resources for our school and invite all constituencies to assist us in the education of our students. Our partnerships include, Vons La Jolla Colony, Golden Triangle Rotary, Washington Mutual Bank La Jolla Village Center, Kinko’s La Jolla, McDonald’s Nobel Drive, UPS Golden Triangle, EdUCate! Foundation, and Bristol Farms.
