AVID Elementary Dates Scheduled:
January 21, 2011, February 7, 2011 & May 17, 2011
We are excited to offer the AVID Elementary Training Days to your teachers at OSS sites who work with
4th and 5th graders. The Operation Student Success (OSS) grant will fund the cost of substitute teachers so your teachers can be released
to attend.
This training is for all Grade 4 and 5 teachers at OSS school sites. There are three
Elementary AVID Training Days which are essentially to the implementation of AVID. Teachers should
plan to attend all three training days.
In addition to the
Grade 4 and 5 teachers, please invite any support teachers, e.g.
Education Specialists, EL Coordinators, etc., who work with your 4th
and 5th graders. If you have any questions about whom to invite or any
other aspects of the training, please contact Kimberly Shapazian,
Grant Coordinator, kshapazian@sandi.net
OSS AVID Elementary Training Days:

Day Two - Monday, February 7, 2011
Day Three - Tuesday, May 17, 2011
The trainings will be held at
Farb Middle School – Library Conference Room.

Scheduled time will be 8:00a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
OSS elementary sites are in the process of starting their after-school Math tutoring programs. Thank you for all your hard work in getting the tutoring program implemented at your site.
For
the purposes of grant documentation and evaluation, we must record and
report upon the number of students served, whether or not the student
is from a military connected family, and the amount of time served. Please contact the grant coordinator if you need a copy of the log. This is a daily log, so each teacher should complete and sign one log for each day of OSS grant-funded tutoring.
