The Labor Compliance Program staff plan, develop and coordinate the district's labor compliance efforts for public works contracts. The program functions under the authority of the Board of Education, California Labor Code and Title 8 of the California Code of Regulations.
Primary Program Functions
- Ensure district compliance with state and federal prevailing wage laws and regulations.
- Provide technical assistance in the areas of prevailing wages, employment of apprentices and monitoring of the district's public works contracts (greater than $25,000 for construction and greater than $15,000 for alteration, demolition, repair or maintenance work).
Operate an approved labor compliance program. The program, in operation since Sept. 14, 2000, received final approval on March 15, 2002.
