In keeping with the district goal of optimum physical and mental health for all students, the school nurse strives to strengthen the educational process through improvement of the health status and knowledge of children and youth. The school nurse shares in the responsibility of helping each student reach full educational growth and maximum potential in physical, mental, and social growth. Nurses provide a health services program for the assessment, evaluation, maintenance, and improvement of the health of pupils and school personnel.

Beginning July 1, 2012, AB 354 requires Tdap booster if not given on or after the 7th birthday or any student transferring from outside CA. into 8-12 grade
FREE Tdap clinic at Madison High School, Room 101, on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 2 - 6 p.m. This clinic is for all 6th grade students who have not obtained the Tdap booster that is required for 7th grade entry. This clinic is open to all students accompanied by parent or guardian, who will sign consent. VFC qualification is not required as we have obtained some unrestricted Tdap vaccine from the County for distribution. Proof of immunization will be available in SDIR after all data is entered from clinic. Please make this information available to your 6th grade parents.
