Cataloging and Instructional Materials Reporting

The Cataloging and Instructional Materials Reporting Office assists in the implementation and maintenance of the Follett Destiny library/textbook automation system for San Diego Unified. The office maintains the Destiny database of MARC records and authority records following the Anglo-American Cataloging Rules, the Dewey Decimal Classification System, and Sears subject headings. It provides relevant library and instructional materials inventory and accountability reports for all library media centers. With the Instructional Materials Office, the Cataloging Office coordinates the annual textbook adoptions so that the material can be accurately cataloged in the Destiny database for ease of use by school site library staff, teachers, and students.
