Board members approved and appointed 15 representatives to the Superintendent Search Advisory Committee.
The attached Superintendent Search Process Plan and calendar outline a detailed process for the board to select a permanent Superintendent for San Diego Unified School District. The plan provides a process for the appointment of a Superintendent Search Advisory Committee and outlines the duties of the committee within the search process. The plan also outlines a series of Town Hall meetings to be held in April 2010, which will provide the public an opportunity to provide input into the board's 2020 Vision and Mid-Term Goals and to provide input on the qualities that are desirable in the Superintendent position. The plan also includes community presentations to be made by the top three candidates in July 2010, before a final selection is made by the board. The calendar provides a general timeline for this process with the goal to have the board make a final selection on July 27, 2010.
