	Principal - Tanya Belsan	Welcome to Oak Park School Music Conservatory with Enriched Studies Magnet! I have really enjoyed my first couple months being able to serve as your Principal. The kids are smart, kind, engaged students, the parents are involved in ensuring and advocating for their child’s success, and the teachers work so hard here. I want to start by saying thank you for being such a supportive and open community. I am proud to be here.
	I want to share with you that when Mr. Murchison and I have been in classrooms with your kids we are focused on student engagement and what your children can do and we are committed to pushing academic achievement forward here at Oak Park by supporting all students. The level of dedication and commitment of the teachers here at Oak Park is quite impressive and evident every time I meet with one of them. I am so pleased because they have a “whatever it takes” attitude and know each of their student’s needs well. They are working diligently to ensure your child succeeds. The parents and community support is to be complimented. Each time I walk into a classroom I see a new parent volunteer, community member, mentor, or tutor helping to support the academic program here at Oak Park. We are all sending the message to the students that they are important and so is their learning. I welcome your suggestions and hints because this is your school and we have 800 students here that I would like to keep at the center of our decision making with the focus being academic achievement, developing music skills and good character so they can be happy, healthy, productive members of society. I have an open door policy if you need to speak to me. I will post my schedule for the day on the whiteboard on my door so you can see when I am available if I am not in my office. I ask for your help as part of the Oak Park team to make this an even better school. Your involvement is paramount to your children’s success.
