San Diego High Teacher Stan Murphy to represent CA in National Teacher of the Year Competition December 8, 2004
Murphy was named one of three San Diego City Schools Teachers of the Year last May, along with De Portola Middle School teacher Sheila Weiner and McKinley Elementary School teacher Mike Miller. He went on to win as one of four San Diego County Teachers of the Year on October 8, 2004. He was chosen from a field of 38 nominees representing 27 county school districts. The district is currently accepting nominations of individual school site Teachers of the Year for consideration as the district-level Teachers of the Year for 2005-2006. The deadline to submit site Teachers of the Year is Wednesday, January 5, 2005. All nominated teachers will be recognized on May 10, 2005, when the district winners will be announced. Further information is included in Administrative Circular 47, which includes attachments for the Nomination Form and Application. Sites should work with their SDEA representative to coordinate a decision before the deadline on January 5, 2005.
