Award      Mt. Everest Academy is a college preparatory K-12 Independent Study school that is designed to meet the unique educational needs of students
who can benefit from learning in an independent setting.
     Mt. Everest Academy is WASC accredited with an API ranking of 10:10,
a recipient of the 2008 Exemplary Independent Study Recognition Award, and one of three independent study schools in the State of California that are also California Distinguished Schools.

  • Harmony for Humanity Concert at Mt. Everest - October 2014

    MEA Community Members: Come be part of a Harmony for Humanity Concert that will be happening here at Mt. Everest in October 2014! Musicians all over the world will be dedicating concerts to inspire unity and harmony between all peoples – and we will contribute the musical talent we have at Mt. Everest!

    Congratulations to our wonderful math teacher, Mr. Greenwood, who has been voted Mt. Everest Academy Teacher of the Year! Mr. Greenwood teaches 8 different math subjects, from Pre-Algebra to Intermediate Advanced Algebra. We are lucky to have Mr. Greenwood’s knowledge, dedication, and teaching skills here at Mt. Everest!

    Mt. Everest Academy is honored that five of our students were selected to play in the San Diego Unified School District’s Honor Concerts! The Middle School Honor Band performed on March 15 and the Elementary Honor Band & Orchestra performed onMarch 21.

    As part of our month long celebration of Black History recognition, the fourth grade students performed a Reader's Theater Play adapted from the book "Sweet Clara and the Freedom Quilt."

    Elementary teachers and parents joined forces to create a multi-event carnival with games galore. See some of our little princesses, pirates, superheroes and other characters as they show off their tossing, fishing, and painting skills.
