Whatever time you can set aside, let us know and we'll find
you something to do!
Even if it is only 15 minutes per week,
it is worth the effort.
NO! Although there
are many opportunities for parents and guardians to volunteer
in the classroom, there are definitely other ways to help out,
even right from the comfort of your own home. Please call your
child's teacher or the school at 583-1355 to find out what you
can do.
Also see (I
work full time..) - There are many things you can do on
a limited time budget. There are many projects you can help
with right from your home. Can you make some phone calls one
evening per week? Or pre-cut art projects at home?
Whatever time you can set aside we'll find you something to
do! Volunteers are also needed and welcome on a "once only"
basis: field trips, class parties, share your special skill
with your child's class, help with a science project, Fifth
Grade Reception, and more!

You don't need special
skills to volunteer. If you have felt reluctant up until now
because you feel "unskilled," just call your child's
class and ask for a list of projects they need help with. Then
YOU pick the one you feel comfortable doing! It is easier than
you think, REALLY! :)
Good question. You don't need to speak English to volunteer
at Marvin.
Call the school and let them know you are interested in helping
out.
ABSOLUTELY! Ask any
of Marvin's volunteers. Whether you're helping from home or
at the school site, you will have the satisfaction of knowing
you helped in the education of our students. You brightened
a teacher's day. You made your child smile. You made someone's
job easier. However you helped, you will feel better inside
for doing so.
