Rules for Recess and Lunch Activities

1. All students must play in assigned areas. (Areas assigned by grade levels, no exceptions.)
2. Proper rest rooms only are to be used. Grades 3, 4, & 5 use bathrooms in building where 16,17,18 & 19 are. Primary grades use bathrooms where rooms 3, 4, 5 & 6 are.
3. Students are not allowed to use walkway and grass area between rooms 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11, 12, 13, 14 & 15.
4. Building walls are not to be used as a ball wall.
5. Primary grades cannot be on upper grade areas.
6. No running within 30 feet of any building or the lunch arbor.
7. When the bell/whistle rings, all play must stop. No playing after the bell.

1. No taking cuts or giving someone else your square.
2. No teaming up against each other, the object is to get to be server, it is not a team game.
3. Server must bounce and hit the ball, and can serve to any square.
4. Liners are out, no-better serves or take over. If the serve is legal it must be played on.
5. Anyone causing a ball to bounce over the opponent’s head or below opponent’s ankles is out. (If the ball is slammed or kicked on an out, that person cannot play for the rest of the period.)
6. Absolutely no kicking of any ball on the lower playground.
7. When the bell rings, all play must stop and balls given to ball monitors, no playing after the bell.
8. Do not interfere with anyone else's equipment, if there are arguments everyone is out and the next 4 players will take the squares.

1. No cuts, saving places in line, or giving up place to anyone but next person in line.
2. Touching the rope, pole, or crossing over to your opponent's side of the area is an out.
3. No holds, you must strike the ball not throw or push it.
4. If you win two games in a row, you must get out and let the next two players in.

1. Ball must be served properly, bounce and strike.
2. Two Corners, sides, and etc. are out. Ball must hit the wall squarely.
3. If the ball bounces outside the proper lines the person who hit it is out.
4. Ball cannot bounce in the area between the wall and first white line.
5. If you win two games in a row, you must get out and let the next two players in.

1. Kicking order must be properly followed, no taking someone's place, or giving your ups to someone else.
2. Those who choose to play must stay for the full period and play in the field also. If they don't, they don't get their ups the next time they play.
3. Rules of softball are to be followed, NO pegging, sliding, interfering with the batter, etc. If the ball is in the area of the plate it must be kicked.
4. No throwing dirt, rocks, etc. on the upper playground.
5. No kicking the ball after the bell rings.
6. Shoes must be worn at all times, even while kicking.
7. Students must stay off the concrete wall by area C.
8. Use the rest rooms before going to your play area, not after the bell rings.

Bad language, fighting, either real or play, ruining the game for others, and talking back to adults will be cause for immediate exclusion from recess and lunch play.
