Letters of Reprimand & Suspensions

Overview
Article 34 of the San Diego Education Association (SDEA) Bargaining Unit Contract Adobe PDF (relevant to certificated staff only) establishes a process for progressive actions which may lead to a letter of reprimand or to an employee's suspension. Reasons for a letter of reprimand include, but are not limited to:
  • Unsatisfactory performance.
  • Unprofessional conduct.
  • Persistent violation of or refusal to obey school policies, state laws or reasonable regulations prescribed by the Board of Education.
Before issuing a letter of reprimand, administrators are encouraged to contact their assigned Certificated Staffing Administrator.
