The School of Community Health and Medical Practices (CHAMPS) will provide a learning environment that integrates rigorous academics and hands-on, real world projects relating to personal fitness, health and medical sciences.

The school's four strategic goals are to:

Improve academic achievement of all students, particularly in math and science.
Prepare students to pursue advanced degrees in math and science.
Promote good personal health and healthy life styles.
Increase awareness of careers in health and medical sciences.

The school will also:

Strive to maintain an environment of "student empowerment."
Build upon students' natural interests in sports and medical careers.
Integrate technology across the curriculum.
Offer advanced courses in math and science.
Use "real world" experiences to teach complex math and science concepts.
Actively pursue grants to fund supplemental course offerings.
Form an Advisory Board made up of representatives of key local health, medical and science research organizations.
