Students in grades 4 - 6 will plant a lettuce, herb or edible flower basket. It's a 15" market basket. They grow their seeds into nice healthy plants to bring them to the fair to be judged. Everyone receives a participant ribbon and then there are first, second and third place winners awarded, also. After judging, the students can enjoy the youth exhibits, see the livestock area and have a barn tour, visit the flower and garden show and other exhibits. Gr. 7 Whooping Cough Booster Shot
State law now requires that all incoming 7th graders get a whooping cough booster shot, called Tdap, before entering school. Students who have not received this booster shot prior to the beginning of the school year will not be allowed to start school.
We encourage you to contact your child’s doctor now to schedule an immunization appointment. Some children may qualify for free immunizations through the Vaccines for Children Program. After your child receives this vaccine, bring documentation of this Tdap booster to your school nurse.
Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, is widespread throughout California. This vaccine can help keep your child and family protected.
For more information about the law and where to get shots, please visit www.sdiz.org or call 211.

The online PowerSchool Portal for parents and students is now active. The portal, which is linked to the district’s new student information system PowerSchool, is a powerful online tool for obtaining information about your child. You will be able to review your child’s class schedule, grades, progress reports, homework assignment scores and attendance from any computer that has internet accessibility, which means you can monitor your child’s progress at any time.
The portal application is a secure link that encrypts the data to and from the end user, so a username and password are necessary to allow access for only authorized users to the appropriate student record. Parents/guardians will have their own individual parent/guardian account, including username and password.
Please contact your child's school to learn when the portal will be available and to obtain a username and password.
To learn more about the PowerSchool Parent Portal, please view the following:
