Please enjoy a light breakfast, courtesy of the AFP, while you browse the many terrific volunteer opportunities we have to offer this year. This is the perfect opportunity to ask questions of the committee chairs and find out which volunteer opportunity is right for you!

  • Shade Structure Project

Thank you to everyone who took time out of their summer schedule to vote on the funding for the shade structures.  The motion to spend up to $45,000 of AFP money on two shade structures was passed.

This project entails building two shade structures over the play structures on the upper playground and one umbrella-syle shade structure on the kindergarten playground.  Part of the funding will come from a donation from Wells Fargo.  The rest will be split between AFP and our site discretionary money from Prop S/Z.

This project is expected to take up to 10 month to complete.  We are very excited that our student will finally have some shade on the playground!

  • Parent Volunteers Needed for Sports Club

We are looking for parents to join our brand new Sports Club! We'd like to have parent volunteers come spend time with the kids during lunch hour and help referee and casually coach sports games on the black top. There are often multiple groups of kids playing basketball, tetherball, etc. up on the black top during lunch hour, and these games would benefit from the experience of a parent who is well versed in the sport! There is no specific time commitment, and we'd be willing to work with your schedule so that you can come on days that are convenient for you. This will be a fun way to spend time with your kids and their friends. We also need a parent volunteer to be the chairperson for this group. The main responsibility of the chairperson role will be to coordinate the scheduling of the volunteers. The scheduling could easily be done via email.  Please contact lsloan@sandi.net if interested.

  • Congratulations to EBS!Honor Roll

The California Business for Education Excellence congratulates EBS for  the outstanding success our school has had in raising student achievement.  After an extensive analysis of student achievement data for every public school in California, EBS stood well above the rest in getting students to grade level proficiency and beyond.  For that reason EBS has been named a California Business for Education Excellence Honor Roll School for 2013.
