Every student is expected to maintain an Academic Vocabulary Flip Chart. Every nine weeks a flip chart with a new set of words will be issued by one of the core curriculum teachers. Students are expected to analyze these words as a class and are encouraged to individualize their explanations of these words so as to ensure a complete understanding of their meaning. Learning and using these words in an academic setting will assist students in knowing and understanding classroom assignments and tasks on standardized tests.
