Hi, my name is Dr. Christian Gordon.  I am the Assistant Principal of Spreckels Bilingual Magnet School and it is my pleasure to welcome you to our school via the World Wide Web. Spreckels is rich in diversity, with students from many different ethnicities, cultures, religions, and socio-economic backgrounds. We share varied interests and talents and enjoy learning together and from each other.  

I am so pleased to be serving another year as Assistant Principal at Spreckels. Before my assignment here, I served four years as Assistant Principal of Knox Elementary School, and prior to that, served for a year and a half as the Principal of Johnson Magnet School, a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics magnet school (K- 6). I am looking forward to another year of working with students, staff, parents and community members to carry on a tradition of excellence and innovation.

The staff at Spreckels is dedicated to making the years at Spreckels challenging and productive and nurturing for every student. School life at Spreckels offers a varied range of activities as well as a strong academic program where staff and students work towards the San Diego Unified School District's mission statement: All San Diego students will Graduate with Skills, Motivation, Curiosity to Succeed in their choice of College and Career in order to Lead and Participate in the society of Tomorrow.  Our staff works to ensure that all facets of that mission statement are evident in all aspects of school life at Spreckels.

By the very fact that you have chosen to visit the Spreckels website, you have shown an interest in children’s education. We know that student achievement is optimized by the efforts of students supported by teachers, support staff, parents and the community. 

In my experience with Spreckels, I have seen what a vibrant community this is. I invite you to join in to support what is already strong and to be part of those who are committed to sustained student growth and student academic achievement.
