Welcome to the Spreckels PTA
Hello Spreckels Families!
As we begin a new school year, I’d like to say welcome to new and returning families alike. Spreckels Elementary is a great school with exceptional teachers, a caring staff, and amazing students! I feel fortunate to be the President of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) at such a terrific school and part of an involved and committed community.
The Spreckels PTA is looking forward to another exciting year. Our PTA works to improve the wellbeing of all students by providing enrichment programs and funding, as well as promoting advocacy and involvement throughout the school. The PTA encourages the collaboration of parents and teachers in order to promote and enhance the learning and education of our students. By becoming a member of the PTA, you’ll be a part of an organization that truly does make a difference in the lives of all children at Spreckels. Please explore the PTA website for the official calendar of meetings and other information or click here for the 2013-2014 PTA calendar of events.
After the great success of the event for the last two years, the PTA will once again sponsor the Spooky Sprint Jog-A-Thon. The funds raised will help with classroom funds, the school art program, and grade level field trips. In addition to raising funds through the Jog-A-Thon and other events for our school, the PTA is responsible for the Spreckels website, school directory, book fairs, Red Ribbon Week, assemblies, school garden, field day and dances throughout the year.
Spreckels PTA always needs volunteers! Help us achieve more for our children with less, lend your expertise and make a difference. There are many rewarding opportunities to enhance your child’s school experience and we invite you all to take advantage of all the PTA has to offer. Our students, parents, and dedicated teachers are special, and Spreckels will continue to grow and improve because of this. We are looking forward to a fantastic school year!

The California State PTA is a professional, non-profit volunteer organization committed to the well-being of all children.
We believe every adult has a responsibility to ensure that all children develop to their full potential.
We believe parents are children’s first teachers and that parent involvement is essential throughout a child's educational experience.
We believe that family is the basic unit of society responsible for the support and nurturing of all children, and we recognize that "the family" may be defined in many ways.
We believe our responsibility includes advocating for the safety and welfare of all children and the opportunity for a quality public education for each child.
