“Parent involvement in education is like the frosting on a cupcake,
it makes it complete and oh so sweet.”

Welcome to the Parent Section of the Bay Park website!

The information that can be linked using the menu on the left side will connect you to information that will help keep you informed about all the good things happening at Bay Park along with how you can get involved in your child’s school life. To quote a good friend of mine, “Education is like a baseball game, it needs all its players: parents, teachers, community, and students.”

The students at Bay Park are fortunate to have an involved community to support and enhance their school experience. Through your dedication and willingness to be an active participant, our students garden and learn about composting, participate in Junior Achievement including Biz Town, learn about San Diego and its history through field trips such as the overnight Star of India experience and much more.

This section contains information about Bay Park’s School Site Council (SSC), PTA, Foundation, before and after school child care through the YMCA’s Character Builder Program and other school committees, activities and events.

This school year we are trying something new that I hope you and your family will enjoy. We are going to publish an on-line Bay Park family newsletter called the Stingray Scoop. The Stingray Scoop will highlight classroom happenings and student work and celebrations, school events and activities and messages from me, the PTA and Foundation. The Stingray Scoop will be easily accessed each month on the Parent and Student sections of this website.

We will continue sending home the weekly Bay Park Press on Thursdays highlighting the week to come with reminders and information on the back. The calendar section on the website will also help keep you informed and will allow you to schedule upcoming activities and events.

Be sure to let me know if you would like any additional information to be included on our website – it is truly a work in progress and we hope that you will be a frequent visitor.

With kind regards,
Leslie Barnes
