Support Our Foundation
|
Welcome to PHHS FoundationMany parents and supporters wonder why PHHS does not have a PTA. In fact we have something equivalent, known as the PHHS Foundation. What is the Foundation? The Foundation raises and distributes funds -- tax deductible donations that go directly to support students -- that are used by classes, school clubs, and faculty and staff projects that enable the school to do many things that would otherwise be impossible. Who does the Foundation benefit? The beneficiaries of the Foundation’s activities are its students (your children). But nothing happens without the help of the PHHS families. Where does the money that the Foundation volunteers raise come from? It comes from annual dues paid by the members, and by fundraising activities. You can join the Foundation at one of several membership levels that start as low as $10! Memberships at higher levels come with incentive giveaways, but the main benefit of joining at a higher level is the knowledge that you are making an even bigger difference for the school. Patrick Henry is a first-rate high school – it can become even better if all its students’ families contribute to the cause. Our goal is 100% membership this year. Please help us help your child by joining. It's easy, fast and tax deductible: simply print a membership form. Who runs the Foundation? The Foundation is run by a board, which consists of parents and staff. The board has several standing committees that report to the board at its annual meetings held on the third Thursday of most non-summer months. We urge you to join the board and participate in its activities Where can I learn more and volunteer to help? For more information, contact Mary Treadwell (619-286-7700 x2305).
