The Patrick Henry High School Healthcare Pathway is a part of a collaborative effort with the Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District and the Regional Allied Health and Science Initiative (RAHSI) partners to increase student awareness of healthcare career opportunities and improve high school student preparation and skills for college science courses.

 

Patrick Henry is in its second year of the program and currently includes the following  sequence of courses*: 10th grade – Medical Biology 11th grade – Medical Chemistry 12th grade – Medical Human Physiology and Anatomy  *Several additional courses, which are to be integrated into the sequence, are currently being planned.

 

Work-site learning experiences will include such activities as job shadows, tours, summer institutes, and paid internships. Additionally, students will have the opportunity to listen to over 50 guest speakers in all areas of healthcare and medicine as the year progresses.
