Students-1

Clairemont High School Tardy Policy

First Ten Minutes:

Teachers are asked to take attendance within the first 10 minutes of class. Any student who arrives to class after roll has been taken will be required to sign-in on the provided Tardy Sign-In Sheet. These sheets will be picked up twice daily (during 2nd and 6th period).  The CHS Attendance Secretaries will use these forms to correct or modify daily attendance before placing the forms in to teacher mailboxes. Attendance will determine if an excessive tardy should be changed to a Truancy. In addition, Attendance will work closely with CHS Administration regarding students with habitual attendance problems.  Teachers are always responsible for noting student attendance and tardies in ZANGLE.

Passes: From time to time students will arrive to class with an official pass signed by a CHS staff member after roll is taken. In this instance teachers are asked to update attendance marks in Zangle when they take roll for the following period and/or attach the pass to the sign-in sheet so that it too can be picked-up, monitored, and attendance corrected.

Tardy Sweep: Tardy Sweep should be considered an additional consequence to the ones listed on the chart below. On tardy sweep days, security and administration will sweep students into the cafeteria to be given school detention/campus beautification. Teachers will not admit students unless they have a pass that indicates they received their school detention slip. Teachers will still mark student tardy and follow consequence chart.
