Welcome to Chieftain Athletics
Victory with Honor
The athletic program at Clairemont High School is an integral part of the educational program. We have a legacy of strong athletics dating back more than a half century.
Sports expands the learning experiences and growth opportunities for the students who participate. It helps them develop habits, attitudes, and ideals necessary for ethical competition and cooperation in our society. It should also provide our students with the unique opportunities for self discipline, self sacrifice, and loyalty to the community, the school and the team.
Clairemont High School provides a well-rounded program of interscholastic athletics for both young men and women. We encourage all students to participate, for their health, their personal development and their life experiences.
Competition and cooperation are prized in our culture, and both are fostered by an athletic program under competent leadership.
Interscholastic athletics is a voluntary program. Thus, competition is a privilege and not a right. Along with the privilege is the responsibility to conform to standards established for the high school athletic teams. This privilege may be revoked when the athlete fails or refuses to comply with the rules.
