Middle School

Regular circulation has ended for the 2015 school year.
All non-class library books were due Friday, May 29th.

Textbook return will be done through visits during students' math classes:
Eighth graders on Friday, June 5th;
Seventh graders on Monday, June 8th;
Sixth graders on Tuesday, June 9th.
Students are to return all textbooks, not just the math books, at that time.

Students who have not returned all of their books, or have a library fine in excess of one dollar, will not receive their yearbooks along with their classmates. Eighth graders will not receive their promotion certificates until their library accounts are cleared.

Textbooks are expensive. If your student has lost a text (other than the brand new math books), Mrs. Lucas can direct you to resale vendors who charge less than list price for replacement copies. Please consult with Mrs. Lucas first to be sure you purchase the correct edition from a trusted vendor.

Destiny: Know What You Owe

Students may check their library status at any time via (the district’s library management system).
From the Destiny home page, enter Standley in the search box, then click on the blue link when it appears. From the Standley catalog home page, click on the Login box at the upper right. The user name and password are the same ones used when logging into any computer at school.  The My Info tab leads to current account information. Library materials currently checked out are listed first, followed by textbooks, followed by fines. There is also a View History link.

No eating or drinking in the library.

Students may check out two library books at a time, for a period of two weeks, with one renewal. Fines are assessed on overdue library books, at a rate of five cents ($.05) per day. The maximum fine is $5.00 per book.

Textbooks are issued in early September and collected in early June. Students are expected to take full responsibility for the books issued to them, and to return them in good condition. Students will be charged for textbooks that are lost or willfully damaged.

Mrs. Lucas keeps a quiet library so that students may read or study in peace. There are other sites on campus for those who wish to work in groups or eat and drink while studying.
