Hoover has classroom technology labs that teachers with their students can reserve. Please check the calendar for each lab availability and then

Send an email to Ern Gladden(egladden@sandi.net) to reserve a lab.

Lab Policies:
NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE LABS:
If there are students with food or drink in the lab during your session. The session will be ended and you will be ask to leave the lab.

You may sign up for 3 days at a time, and two others must have used the lab before you can sign up again. There are exceptions; this is the general courtesy rule. If you have signed up for a lab and do not plan to use it, send an email canceling your reservation. We do not send student teachers to the labs without their lead. The person sent or using the lab (Including Visiting Teachers) as the teacher must know the standards and how the students are to log in. The labs are for research, portfolio, resume training. Please do not just send individual students to the lab unless you have made a cooperative agreement with the teacher whose has signed up for the lab and whose name is posted.

The district has a “no games” standard, thus we have a no games standard. Labs are for school work, not an arcade. If we allow games, students needing to do school work will not have a pc because they are being used for gaming. I have nothing against gamers or computer games. It is just that we are a place of learning, not pc gaming.

Paper supplies for the Labs:

Please bring the paper with you that you will need for your printers and projects in the labs. The printers in the labs are the same as other shared printers on campus. To save paper, have students cut and paste any web information into Word before printing. Web pages, HTMLdocuments, print a lot of useless information that uses paper supplies. Have the student’s only print, cut and paste, only the text or information they need and not the ads etc. To save on print cart cost, try not to print images using a lot of black ink. (This uses the ink in the print carts at a higher rate.)
