Accreditation Information

Our school is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), the organization serving as the accrediting body for the western United States. A full description of the process and services can be found on its website: http://acswasc.org/index.htm.

Why is accreditation important? Being accredited shows the public that the school is a trustworthy institution of learning, validates the integrity of a school’s program and student transcripts, fosters improvement of the school’s programs, and assures a school community that the school has a viable educational program. In addition, it is essential for college-bound students because colleges and universities examine transcripts to determine if students have attended accredited schools, and accreditation is necessarily to receive Cal Grants, and to have a-g courses considered by UC schools.

In preparation for the March 3-5, 2013 visit, the staff of UC High has prepared a comprehensive report outlining performance data, changes and developments, and degrees of accomplishment of UCHS’s Action Plan. This report is meant to be a self-review, in which staff examine how well the school is making progress in terms of student learning. All stakeholders are encouraged to review the report:
