The National Junior Honor Society is a recognized organization throughout the State and Nation that has been in existence for over 75 years. The NJHS supports the educational goals of Taft Middle School, as well as provide an opportunity to involve chapter members in leadership roles and activities. These students receive academic honors and are encouraged to reflect the local values of our school.
Our 7th and 8th grade students are selected to become National Junior Honor Society members based upon their high academic excellence of achieving and maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher and maintaining high standards of citizenship. Students select officers and throughout the year, involve their members in activities that promote the NJHS standards of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, membership, and character.
Taft Middle School is very proud to continue its academic excellence with the establishment of a variety of after school activities and clubs, the establishment of NJHS is just one more way to recognize and award our students for staying in school and achieving high academic goals that they need for their future educational opportunities.
