Science
Science in 6th grade focuses on Earth Science. Topics such as ecology, erosion, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, and energy are all part of the curriculum that students will be focusing on this year. They will become familiar with what these things are and how they are all part of Earth's natural processes. Students will also be encouraged to find understanding about their own personal connection to the planet and how their actions can affect their surroundings.
Science
7 and 8 are student centered, year long programs that introduce the
processes and methods of science. The focus will be on California state
standards with emphasis on cooperative teamwork and inquiry. These courses will also reinforce math
and writing skills taught and practiced in many other classrooms.
