Marston Publications include our full-color yearbook, our annual literary magazine, our Tweets, and our online student publication site called "Scuttlebutt". "Scuttlebutt" is accessible at moodle.sandi.net (password "scuttlebutt"). We sponsor student art and writing contests throughout the year and the winners receive a $10 prize and their work is published in the literary magazine, here on the Marston website, and featured in our student publication windows outside room 315. Marston’syearbook is a celebration of all of our students and your amazing talents andbeautiful, smiling faces. It willinclude your school portraits plus many candid shots of you and your friendsaround campus, at lunch, in class, and at school-sponsored events. We also like to include some snapshotsof student life beyond the school day, but we need your help to get thosephotos. We are looking for photosof Marston students doing fun things and adventuring “beyond the bell.” These could include sports and otherafter school activities, such as performances, clubs, and hobbies. We are also need photos of students whotraveled during the summer of 2011 taken at interesting locations.
Photosmust be digital jpegs and can be submitted in three ways:
1)Send as email attachments to: scuttlebutteditors@gmail.com
2)Go the www.sandi.net/marston >departments >publications >imagesharing and follow the prompts
3)Send us a link and instructions for your online photo-sharing app
Wewill publish a number of photos, but not all photos can be used. We have a number of constraints, suchas size and clarity, and we are looking for pictures that focus on Marstonstudents having fun or showing off their talents or travels. All photos must have been takenafter June 13, 2011. With yoursubmission, please give us enough information so we could write an informativecaption (who, what, when, where, why).

AllMarston students are invited to enter our monthly writing contests. The ten best entries in each category willbe published in Marston’s Literary Magazine and the authors and their familieswill be invited to attend our literary magazine publication celebration to beheld in the Marston Library May 30, 2012. Allwritten entries must be typed and may be submitted by your English teacher, putin Ms. Hayenga’s box in the office, delivered to the publications classroom (room315), or sent as an email attachment to: scuttlebutteditors@gmail.com before the last day of the month. When the winners are announced in the bulletin, they mustsubmit their work as a Word.doc sent as an email attachment to scuttlebutteditors@gmail.combefore receiving the $10 prize. Pay attention to the bulletin for more details, or check the publicationswindow (room 315).
