Get Involved

Research shows that when parents are actively involved with their children's education, students' grades are higher, their self-esteem is greater, and they are more socially adjusted. In fact, the most accurate indicator of a student's academic success in school is not tied to family income or social status, but the extent to which a family:

  • Creates a home environment that encourages learning.
  • Sets high but realistic achievement and career expectations.
  • Becomes involved in their child's education and in the community.

Dingeman and our students are successful not only because of the great teachers and staff, but also because of the enthusiasm and dedication of many parent volunteers. Each position only takes a small amount of time, but an active and involved community makes a HUGE difference in the experience of an elementary student!

All volunteers need to stop by the Dingeman office and submit a volunteer application, TB test (if not completed within the past 4 years--please check with the office if you are not sure), and a copy of your driver's license and proof of car insurance.
