Cabrillo Elementary School Gets a Visit From Clifford the Big Red Dog! San Diego, CA January 12, 2012—Cabrillo Elementary, located at 3120 Talbot Street in The Point Loma neighborhood of San Diego, received a rare treat on Wednesday as Clifford the Big Red Dog visited the students during their RIF (Reading is Fundamental) Book Distribution. Our RIF Chairperson and Second Grade Teacher, Betty Carlos set up this special day for our students to promote a life-long love of reading. One of the RIF guidelines is that a child may choose any book, regardless of the type or level. Although most students chose books on grade level, some did not. “Any reading is good reading,” says our school Library Assistant, Lauryn Gates. “This is what the RIF program is all about. A special thanks to RIF, Scholastic Books and the staff at Cabrillo for making Clifford’s visit a memorable experience for all of our students! The Cabrillo ASB greets our special guest!
