Our Principal: Irene Hightower
After holding positions in the district as a Classroom Teacher for twelve years, District Resource Teacher in the Program Monitoring Department for four years, and Vice Principal for six years, I am very excited to be the Principal at Cabrillo Elementary beginning the 2014-15 school year.
I am a firm believer of putting children first. I want to see every child make progress no matter where they begin. Research shows that children who have parents involved in their education do the best in school. There are many opportunities for parents to be involved at Cabrillo. Consider being on our PTA to help provide the most exciting opportunities for our students. We welcome volunteers across our campus in many capacities and welcome the parents and community to our many events throughout the school year. It is through our partnership in education that we can provide the best education for our Cabrillo children.
We are so lucky to have such a seasoned staff who love being a part of the Cabrillo community for many years and many years to come. We are working hard to ensure that children are in safe welcoming environments that are worthy of our children. Staff spend quality time in professional development opportunities on campus as well at the district level in order to discover best practices to educate our students. We all love being a part of this community and we hope you do, too!
