To promote health and wellness through quality health services, advocacy, and education in order to maximize student achievement.

 

HEALTH CENTER SERVICES

The Health Center is staffed by a full-time Credentialed School Nurse, a full-time bilingual Health Assistant, and a part-time Health Technician.

Services Provided Include:

         •        First Aid

         •        Appraisal of student health including:

    • vision screening, hearing screening,
    • PE modification due to injury/illness,
    • IEP assessments, medication administration, and case management

         •        Communicable disease control

         •        Health promotion and counseling

         •        Communication of health needs to staff as appropriate

         •        Health record management

 

MONROE CLARK SCHOOL-BASED HEALTH & WELLNESS CENTER

A partnership with San Diego Unified School District, San Diego Family Care/Mid-City Clinic and La Maestra Family Clinic was formed at Monroe Clark Middle School to build a healthier community.

Our school-based Health & Wellness Center provides services to our students and siblings along with the students and siblings of our feeder schools of Hamilton Elementary, Joyner Elementary, and Rowen Elementary.

The clinic is open Monday-Friday 7:30-4:30. Clinic remains open during school breaks/vacations. See clinic or school nurse for specific clinic schedule. Can enter through the back gate on Myrtle St.

 

MONROE CLARK HEALTH & WELLNESS COUNCIL

Health & Wellness Council meets the 2nd Thursday of the month from 3:00 -4:30 to provide leadership in promoting health and wellness school-wide to spur student learning, development, and well-being.
