Hello ! I am very proud to be part of the Monroe Clark Middle School community. It is a rewarding experience discussing with students, parents, teachers, and comunity members about Clark's academic direction : An upward direction. Although we may not agree on all points, but we do care about one point - academic success! I have been involved with San Diego Unified School District for 20 years. My goodness time flies! During the 20 years of service, I have been a teacher at Brooklyn Elementary, MacDowell Elementary, Marston Middle School, and Longfellow Spanish Immersion Magnate School. Also, I have been fortunate to be one of the San Diego Unified's first group of Math Specialists; which I served at Emerson /Bandini Elementary. Most of my teaching has been dedicated to mathematics at the middle school level. One more item concerning my career - I worked in the Imperial Valley for 2 years as a math teacher. Education is a vital part of a democratic society. It is the obligation of society to educate all students . I should be specific in stating that all children deserve an equitable education. Education is the pillar in which democracy rests. We need educated citizens of the world in order to provide prosperous safe society. A society that enables justice to be served to all. We must remind ourselves that the world is under a constant state of change. Therefore, the classroom must stay with the changes. Easier said than done, however we must be ready for the challenge. Through communication, preparation, constant learning, and critical thinking we will overcome challenges. We all know that working at a middle school could be a bit taxing, therefore I have to find time to relax. One of my favorite activity is to travel. I have backpacked Mexico. I have visited Mazatlan, Mexico City, Manzanillo, Puebla, and Guadalajara. I have driven across the United States -- awesome! I have back-packed across Europe and visited England, Belgium, France, and Spain. My last trip was a jaunt to Argentina and Chile . I also love food -- I believe that Mexico City has the best food in the world followed by Paris. My future plans include Asia, especially China and Vietnam. I am also a reader. Some of my favorite authors include George Orwell, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Albert Camus, and William Faulkner. I love movies All kinds of movies - in fact my favorite cable channel is Turner Classic Movies (TCM). Well, thank you for visiting my page. I hope to meet you in person and to discuss items that are critical to Clark. Maybe we can talk about travel, books, and movies. Sincerely, Paul Nunez |
