Hello! Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Rich Del Principe and this year I have the privilege of working directly with our 6th grade students, staff and families, as well as serving the overall Clark Community. I have worked with San Diego Unified School District for over 20 years. In that time, I have experienced jobs from Teacher's Assistant to literacy coach to vice-principal. I have earned two teaching credentials and a peer coaching certification. Additionally, I have earned a masters degree in Reading and Language Arts and am recognized as a California Reading Specialist. Most recently, I completed my administrative credential through the nationally recognized Educational Leadership Development Academy at the University of San Diego. I pride myself on being a life-long learner and I am constantly challenging myself to improve.
As vice principal, I believe it is my job to ensure that our campus is safe and orderly, there is effective communication with staff, family and community members, and instruction is of high quality and that develops the 21st century skills of our students. I also believe that critical literacy skills, reading/writing/speaking/listening, should be at the forefront of everyday instruction and will lead to higher achievement and future independence for our children. Although I am relatively new to the City Heights Community, I am amazed at the vibrancy of diversity that exists and really enjoy learning about, and working with the variety of cultures that exist in this small corner of San Diego. I look forward to dedicating my energies and passions to help make this community a shining star within San Diego.
