Welcome to Innovation Middle School! I am proud to serve as the Principal of such a creative STEM school where there is a passion for lifelong learning that fosters social and emotional acuity along with the excitement and passion for learning. When opening this Middle School in 2008, I knew that this would be a special place for students who want the thrill of discovery and technology beyond the traditional classroom walls. Our 1 to 1 take home technology program (Netbooks and iPads) along with our amazing teaching staff allows iMiddle to be an inspirational place where students are able to pursue their passions, develop a sense of purpose and intellectually engage in an inquiry based curriculum that will guide them to understand the world in new and inventive ways. At Innovation Middle School, we are committed to our vision of inspiring students to be intellectually prepared and engaged in a curriculum focused on the integration of science, technology, engineering and mathematics with a deliberate worldview and commitment to character development.
A key characteristic of an iMiddle student is that they want to come to school; they want to be at school. Our students are often highly motivated and self-directed. Our program supports the school community's variety of learning styles, and teachers work hard to differentiate curriculum to meet each student's needs. We offer GATE, Seminar, and Special Education Programs to meet the diverse needs of our students.
I believe in building strong family/school partnerships. I welcome all families of iMiddle to be active participants in their child’s education at such a critical time when students are preparing for High School. I want families to feel connected to each other, to school staff, and to what students are learning and doing in class. Please consider visiting your child’s classroom, taking a tour at one of our Principal Coffees, attending a family event, visiting us for Family Fun Fridays or joining the school’s Foundation (aka PTA). Visit our website often to learn about how you can be involved. This year, your child will be taking the Common Core Assessment. The Parents’ Guides to Student Success were developed by teachers, parents and education experts in response to the Common Core State Standards that more than 45 states have adopted.
Created for grades K-8 high school English language arts/literacy and mathematics the guides provide clear, consistent expectations for what students should be learning at each grade in order to be prepared for college and career.
