School Overview
Welcome to our new school built just for the historic Golden Hill neighborhood, and for students from anywhere in the district who choose to attend our nurturing program. Golden Hill is a jewel in the San Diego Unified School District. For students this serves as their academic home, where they learn pre-kindergarten through 8th grade. Our dedicated teachers take them from their ABCs to Algebra. Students love their new and modern school that opened in 2006. We provide students with a beautiful and progressive learning environment. The school's modern styling and colorful multistory buildings is called by some "the Horton Plaza School," after the architecturally appealing shopping and entertainment mall nearby in the heart of downtown San Diego. We provide a talented staff of educators dedicated to boosting student achievement for our approximately 550 students. Our mission is to create a learning environment where teachers, parents, students, and the community collaborate to develop children who are healthy, caring, responsible, and who are lifelong learners and productive members of a diverse society. We provide a positive, challenging, program that emphasizes high expectations for all. |
